Building a Brighter Future for Alaska

Alaska has always been a place where hard work leads to good opportunities. I learned this as a boy growing up in a rural Alaska village, and I chose Alaska as the best place to build my career, raise my family, and give back to the state that did so much for me.

But today, Alaskans have legitimate concerns about our future such as the cost of living in Alaska, keeping small businesses viable, and whether we’ll be able to retire and stay in the state we love. When thinking about the quality of education available to our children, we’re concerned about the future of the next generation. Will our young people be able to compete for placement in top schools here and in the Lower 48? Can they compete in the job market? Is there a future for them here in Alaska?

I believe that Alaska can be a place where hard work leads to opportunities for our families, businesses, and communities, and I’m committed to using my experience, leadership, and vision to make this happen. Our district deserves someone who isn’t swayed by political extremists but who instead will do the hard work necessary to protect Alaskans’ values and secure a stable future.

I will bring my decades of experience as a leader in business, local government, and civic organizations to stand up for our shared vision for Alaska’s future: decrease the cost of living, make smart government investments, ensure exceptional schools, remove government from intervention in personal matters, and develop a stable, sustainable fiscal plan.

Priorities

Decrease Cost of Living

Provide low-cost, reliable, and sustainable energy to heat and light every Alaskan’s home, power Alaska’s businesses, support Alaska’s industries, and bring down the cost of living for Alaska’s families.

Smart Gov’t Investments

Make smart government investments to build our economic future – roads, bridges, broadband, ferries, public safety, ports, and airports.

Exceptional Education

Meet our obligation to this and future generations of Alaskans to make Alaska a place where people want to live and raise their children and to ensure that Alaska has a trained and ready workforce to complete the long-overdue job of developing Alaska.

Keep Gov’t out of Private Lives

Alaskans have the constitutional right to be left alone in their private lives, in their personal healthcare decisions, and in the exercise of their faith.

Stable, Sustainable Fiscal Plan

The basic elements are the protection of the Permanent Fund, a responsible-sized PFD, no new taxes, and active development of state-owned assets.
